Translated from Bengali, this book showcases the lesser known and ventured places of Calcutta back in the 1923. The thoughts, culture and mannerisms of that era might feel a bit fictitious to some readers.

However I loved the picturesque background of this Calcutta which I have read in many historical books.

Of course what I did not like much was how short lived each place was, it lacked the art of storytelling but maybe back then they did not want to write more about a banned place of society.
