Loved this book.

Aria is a dog trainer that adores her clients and has found training as a way to make a life for herself. Everything is going fine until one call changes her life.

Carson is determined to get his dog under control. He promised his sister he would take care of her and he will do everything in his power to make that happen. Even if it means offering a ridiculous amount of money to the new trainer that might solve all of their problems.

It’s fun to see everyone flourish in these relationships and I’m a sucker for the unconditional love between a dog and their people.

Only downside was it’s only a novella. Would love to see more of the characters in the future.

Carson needs help to control his erratic dog, Bubbles. As a last ditch effort he contacts Aria, who came highly recommended.
Aria handles the dog so professionally that Carson hires her on the spot offering her more money than she could ever imagine as he is desperate.
Over the course of a few weeks they grow closer and closer.
Mae writes the best novellas. I highly recommend.

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

In a word, Mae Harden’s Hound Dog is adorable. This is the first book that I’ve read from her, and I gobbled it whole. For one, it’s a novella, so it’s a nice bite-sized read. It’s perfect for a quick afternoon reading session. Secondly, it has a lovely heroine in Aria. She’s a dog walker with the ability to talk down the most unruly animal. Even more, she’s had a tough time in life, but she hasn’t allowed it to undermine her positivity. Thirdly, Hound Dog has a hero who is hunkalicious. Carson is struggling with his dog, formerly his sister’s dog. He’s a star, a triple threat, and he needs someone to help him get his dog in check. From the minute they meet, there is an instant attraction between Aria and Carson. And for the rest of the story, Carson shows a depth of character in the ways that he falls for and cares for Aria. When their happily-ever-after is threatened, Carson makes it better for Aria because he adores her. And finally, Mae Harden knows how to write spicy romance. On the one hand, there is a sweetness to the way that Carson and Aria care for each other; on the other hand, they turn up the heat to High in the bedroom.

For my first Mae Harden read, Hound Dog did NOT disappoint.

A light hearted fun summer read. Aria is fully in the 'i don't need or want a relationship camp' which is a fun twist since so many books have the MMC be the anti relationship half of the couple.

This was a fun, quick read, with a great balance of heat, heart, and laughter.
