I really enjoyed this book. It's written in a way that's both fascinating for those with a psychology background and those outside the field. The book has several ways to make a woman's brain work for her and approaches it from the angle of empowerment. In a world where women are still fighting to be heard this book says, "I hear you and I'm with you".

I got this book in audio format, and I’m really happy I did. If I hadn’t, I most likely would have read 2 chapters, and then got bored.

Let me start this off by saying— I bought this audiobook after hearing Dr.Alloway on a podcast, and thinking she was absolutely brilliant. She mentioned her book and I thought it must be so empowering to know more about how women think from such a smart specialist.

I am no clinical psychologist but I am a psychology student, and in my personal opinion Dr. Alloway over-generalized every statement in this book (while trying to disprove over-generalizations). She fell victim to hand picking studies that supported her agenda for this book. While I think that the structure and approach to this book was set up for success, it was executed poorly.

For example: *roughly summarized* “myth: women are more emotional than men. It showed in this study that they aren’t. Men and women use different parts of their brain in distressed decision making”

This is basically the structure for every chapter of this book. All of the generalizations that I didn’t believe about women, aren’t true. Wow.

There are better books to read that achieved the goal this book was looking to do. But moreover, maybe Dr. Alloway does better in one hour podcasts.

If you believe women are inferior, and have never studied any field of psychology before, or just popped out of a time machine from the 1800’s, this book might enlighten you.
