Decent for what it is. A book for teens who feel their parents don't let them decide anything and want to recognize themselves in a story.
For me it was a quick short read for my readathon and worked as such. Had low expectations since the last book I read in this series was terrible and had an even worse message. This was decent, nothing revolutionary, but not too backwards either. Except from Marisa's family's outdated view on women, something that is commented on in the book, although not labeling it problematic enough for my liking with regards to the age of the target audience.
