The second book in the "update" of the classics craze, SSSM falls a bit flat compared to "Pride, Prejudice and Zombies." It follows the same simple formula - keep the same basic story, plot and dialogue, but add in a bit more of a zing. In this case, all the creatures of the sea (for many reasons speculated, but nothing ever clearly determined) have been changed into bloody thirsty creatures who want nothing more then to destroy humanity. England, as well as presumably, the rest of the world, exists in a state of trying to survive the way they always have while trying to defend their lives against the monsters, and trying to genetically alter and train the monsters to stop killing them.
The ultimate problem with the book is that it tries to hard to mix in the new storyline, and it doesn't flow that well. PP&Z did it much better.

It was fun the first time with P&P&Z, but this paled in comparison.

Gratuitous sea monstering.... The characters became somehow flatter with the plot additions.

Not my best...I don't think I can even give this one star. I can't bring myself to, even if I try to be kind...I don't think they should attach Jane Austen's name to this in any shape, make or form. Not even in jest.

Read it in about an 8 hour time frame. Helped get me out of a reading slump. Kept me guessing
