Very hit or miss —and for me, mostly miss. I think it’s primarily a product of the time it was written/compiled and perhaps the ideas were more groundbreaking or insightful then.

Had I not been required to read this book, I would not have picked it up, let alone purchased it. It's ten years old and it really shows. It was incredibly dry and boring.

various points of view with regards to design justice, design responsibility, and other things that i was interested in for my essay about being a responsible designer. but also in general, an interesting book that shows how design for systems can benefit those affected by it. oftentimes other groups look down on people who work in service design — as in, people who look at frameworks and systems FOR users — because they think design research is not a valid methodology, but it is!!

since the topic is very niche, and it's a collection of essays, the writing isn't amazing, but the subjects are really interesting.
