I really enjoyed this mystery! I didn't realize it was a fourth book in a series but I could still follow most of the plot, a testament to how well written it is! Another thing I didn't realize was that it's a supernatural mystery... the mystery itself is not but one character is a charming ghost who helps out. The stakes in this mystery were a bit higher that that of Board to Death mostly because the main character, Gethsemane, happens to not listen to authority. My main complaint is having to read the main character's name constantly was difficult to say the lest, who names someone after a garden. (Says the person who named their dog after a forest.)

I like this series but this one felt rushed, with no real tension. Disappointing.

3.5 stars - This one is a bit more supernatural than precious ones, but it’s worked in so well I barely notice. I love the garden club aspect. And it’s only a matter of time before one of the gang was a suspect, and Frank is caught in the murder this time. Great characters and a good mystery!

I love that the author keeps finding ways to bring people to this small Irish village so we can have regular murders without much population decline. This time it’s a rose and garden competition, and our friend Frankie is a contender for the win, so of course he also becomes a murder suspect. I appreciated the ghost-as-scout bits, because really that’s a strategy underutilised up to this point.
