This author has become a must read as soon as she drops a book for me. This is a side story of one of the characters in the Wytchling Chronicles.
The FMC is one of those characters you'd take home to meet mum if you were in your rebellious stage, she is kickass, badass and all the other asses you can think of. The depth that the author has managed to give this characters story is breathtakingly good. World building, character growth are so good that it's hard to leave the worlds when you hit the inevitable cliff hanger -that if you have read anything else by this author-you know is coming, but the pain is oh sooooo worth it.
So if you love FMCs whose spirit balls are bigger than most men's, who doesn't back down or apologise for being who they are, and comes conveniently pocket sized then Lyrik is soooo your WOMAN!

Quick read for major background character development of Lyric! Really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and I read it one sitting.

I just want to hug Lyrik even though it would earn me a well deserved punch. Our five foot feral deserved better

C.C. Davie ripped my heart out in the pouring rain during the coldest winter's night

This novella showcases the background of Lyrik Damaris and her journey to finding safe haven in Asteryn.

Lyrik is the first female of her kind to produce such power at birth that her asshole father Valdimyre saves her from instant death.
Lyrik goes through trauma time and time again, and just when you think that she's been through enough... C.C. Davie rips your heart out and puts it through a meat grinder.

I warned you, your days were numbered,"

There is trigger's and content warnings in this book that aren't for the faint-hearted but are definitely worth reading and drinking every. last. drop.

Lyrik finds her strength and identity mid book and discovers that the comfort that she once thought she found has all been a lie. Her rage that has been building over years finally releases when she gets manipulated for the final time and war breaks loose.

"How long are you going to keep me here before you let me just die, Darius."

If you made it to the end of the book, virtual hugs.

I loved this novella and it was the perfect read after finishing book 2 in the series.

This story follows Lyriks early years living amongst the dravyn. Despite this only being a short book I still felt so much emotion and was captivated by all the highs and lows we experienced.

I felt I got to know Lyrik’s character so much better and have a far greater appreciation for her because of it.
