Philoctetes is a great commentary on Greek heroes before it, it even shares ideas that are common in modern critiques. It has a well written character-driven story that explores why bad things happen to good men and vengeance. Very effective themes that are baked into the entire play and wrap up nicely at the end. This isn't for everyone but people who enjoy Greek plays will probably like this one, especially if they believe Greek heroes are insanely cruel and receive little-to-no consequences for it (cough-Odysseus-cough).
