While the covers of these books look similar to all the run-of-the-mill pink girlie books for younger readers, what's inside of them is not! Sally's stories are fresh, fun and could be enjoyed by both boys and girls (if only we could get the boys past the cover design - sigh!)Each book in this series also contains four chapters so would be a great stepping stone series to longer chapter books. Perhaps a parallel them to do with Billie's best friend Jack if the publisher can't come at a more gender neutral cover design.
What I especially loved about these books is the highlighting of emotions/feelings vocab words throughout the text. They would be great for any lower primary grades studying such a theme or for children within Autism spectrum
