In the first third of the book I actually thought I was going to enjoy one of Christie's spy thrillers. I was wrong. The middle part dragged forever and the end just... The cartoonish villains, the ridiculous depiction of communists, the racism, the
hero in blackface
. I'm just glad it's over. Giving it half a point because I loved the premise of "I see you're thinking of commiting suicide, why not become a spy instead?".

An enjoyable Christie- not her best, not her worst. They are some descriptions of Africans that are of the times, and definitely a Red Scare view of politics. More adventurous than a Poirot or Marple, which made it feel more exciting.

When the twist involves blackface… yikes.

One of her more interesting books. I was getting tired of her usual methodology of the the big murder, side character murder and the killer almost murders again but gets caught so this book was a breath of fresh air. The twist was good as well.

I can't ask for more.

Banyak tanda seru, kayak semua orang ngomongnya teriak - teriak XD.

Destination Unknown ini stand alone, kayak Death Comes as the End atau And Then There Were None. Seperti yang gue bilang, ceritanya biasa aja kalau mau dibandingkan sama And Then There Were None.

This was a weird one! I was expecting a classic Agatha whodunnit, and it wasn’t that at all. That said, it was a really fun read. The plot was enticing if a bit outlandish. It’s a bit overtly anti-Communist in a very odd way as well. Also some classic Christie racism, as well as one instance of blackface.
