Catching up on bad reviews and bad rep. This series was recently on a Neurodivergent book promo thing, which, wow. Stop promoting offensive rep.
This review is for the entire series.
I cannot believe after this book/series has already been reviewed and called out for FUCKING ABYSMAL autism rep, people are still reccing it! Holy shit, way to announce to the world that you don't give a fuck.
Other reviewers are more eloquent, I'm just going to throw the obvious out there.
Also, there's a really bizarre take on alcoholism, AA, and how AA sponsors should act, no one mentions it, but it's awful and weird.
Let's start with this:
“You’re—” Will stares at him. “Wait, hold up. You’re autistic?” “No, I’m on the spectrum. There’s a difference.” Patrick counts out five beats of Will’s heart. “You don’t see me screaming and banging my head on tables because the spaghetti noodles aren’t done, do you?”
Nice. Not offensive at all.

It wasn’t easy but they eventually got there!!
I thought Will’s decision to spend time apart was semi-reasonable as he’s coming from a place where he’s only had poor examples or personal traumatic experiences to refer/compare to as well as people constantly telling him what’s what, and as a result, never really had the chance to think through things himself, but his insistence on divorcing on top of imposing distance didn’t make much sense to me. I was also disappointed Ryan didn’t get unceremoniously thrown into a dumpster or something

So happy to see everything out in the open. Patrick and Will have finally settled things between them, mob family and all.

It's been a long time coming, but this was the perfect ending to Will and Patrick's story. My heart couldn't be happier. *contented sigh*

Well, I cried WAAAAAYYYY more than I ever dreamed I would. This last book took its toll on me emotionally and it was so perfectly written. I absolutely love this couple.

“You never looked at Ryan the way you look at Patrick.”
“How do I look at him?”
“Like he hung the sun and moon just for you.” Jax nudges Will’s foot. “And you know he would if he could.”

I'm a mess.

Loved this whole series!!! Author was new to me and so was the narrator, but I couldn’t pass up all six novellas for 1 Audible credit. So glad I didn’t.
