I especially loved the exploration of Camille and her growth throughout the novel, which were both masterfully done!
The story is incredibly sweet and I really appreciated how the first two novels of this series are so distinct (which cannot be said for many historical romance series)!

As a romance, I would give this a 3. The growth of their relationship was weirdly paced and I didn’t really buy her sleeping with him and not giving any thought to her virginity or the possibility of pregnancy .
But as a book about a woman recovering from the trauma of feeling unloved by her father, overcoming her ideals of perfection and learning to love and be loved, I would give it a 4.
Camille is a very interesting character and I enjoyed seeing her growth.
