Jakby ksiazka miala tylko dwie czesci to dalabym duzo wyzsza note, a tak, przy trzeciej sie zmeczylam i do czwarta juz sobie odpuscilam. Klotnie, bijatyki, intrygi, zazdrosc, milosc, knucie... czyli cos a la Dynastia, z tym, ze na wsi. Za duzo tego jak dla mnie, okropnie mnie wymeczyla przykra, pelna nienawisci atmosfera, przycmiewajac tym samym pozytywne aspekty "Chlopow".

Surprised there aren’t more recent reviews of this given the translation and penguin classics edition. Like nothing I’ve read before, but also just like a soap opera.
