Brian Selznick does it again! A touching story, beautifully told in a combination of words and stunning artwork. I’m always impressed by his ability to tell such emotive and detailed stories with just pictures.

The creativity Brian Selznick uses to tell a story is astounding. The illustrations are as fun to follow as the written words. The two woven stories, set years apart, came together beautifully, as did the characters. I found it curious that I thought Rose's story gave me a feeling of being "reader deaf" before I found out that deafness was an intrical part to the book! And who hasn't wanted to run away and spend the night in a museum at least once? I'm glad nothing came to life at night though, or I would've deducted a star for unoriginality lol. I would love to share this book with my children one day.

I wish this book had been around when I was younger. Its many nods to FROM THE MIXED-UP FILES OF MRS. BASIL E. FRANKWEILER made me so happy and I'm sure I could have caught even more of them back then. This is a gem of a book.

I enjoyed the mix of pictures and words, especially given that both characters were deaf. I found Ben's story most interesting and detailed but wish we had more of Rose's story, especially of her finding her community rather than simply being told it as finding where you belong is the main theme of the book
