I will finish this into a proper review, but for now here’s my notes:

Recaps some exposition. I needed that (poor short term memory), but I know that some people find that annoying.

Lots of telling, but also filling out great, mesmerizing world-building

Great at “set dressing.” Every setting had its own characteristics, culture, weather, vibes, etc. We get to see the North in this one, with different groups with different agendas.

Expanding the world, the POVs. We get to see how these characters themselves and others, such as each Guardian thinking they’re the worst one, that the others have cooler powers and better personalities.

Awkward wording regarding the one Black character, feels kinda racist; always referring to him as “black-skinned” with few other descriptions

Still quite funny
Still subtle modern pop culture references (BTS, Squid Game / Korean sweets, I swear there were others)

Massive cliff hanger, but also feels like a complete story told. I can’t wait for the finale.
