Typical Korman style of masterfully weaving together multiple characters lives in realistic ways that pull you into their stories. The finding of the fort -- and all it means for the characters -- it's delightful.

This book was so good! Told by alternating narrators, we slowly get to know the boys and the challenges they each are dealing with. There are dangerous moments and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but the strong friendship between the boys really shines through. If you are a librarian, you'll want to add this to your shelves! Highly recommended for ages 10+.

Some intense home lives of the main characters that I wish I had known about before letting my son read it. I think it’s a great book to have discussions about, I just wish I had known to check in with my son to see how all those hard things made him feel.

So good and so raw. It didn't feel like a kids book that is for sure.
