This book was so overhyped to me and maybe that was its downfall. An interesting concept, but really underdeveloped characters and a lack of nuance in the story let it down. The characters all made so many irresponsible, reactionary choices that made it difficult to root for them. If you’re a fan of insta-love or spicy-times-leading-to-love then you might enjoy this story. If you’re tired of reading stories about alpha heroes obsessing over waif like heroines who don’t advocate for their own needs, maybe steer clear.

Loved this Greek retelling. Hades is perfection. Wish there was a book two just about them.

Wow 😏 I’m not usually into super spicy books but I thought this one had a good level, where it focused more heavily on the plot but still added quite a bit of 🔥 in the last 2/3’s. I wasn’t too keen on the fact that it was a very modernized retelling but I loved the concept as a whole. I loved Hermes as a side character!! And otherwise, yeah there were flaws and cliches, but I don’t think that’s what most of us were paying attention  to…
Anyway yeah I’ll read anything Hades and Persephone even if I know it’ll be a bit out of my comfort zone. And in this case, going out of my comfort zone was rewarded!

I love a reimagining of Greek Mythology. This one took away their god statuses but kept them at the most powerful 13, in the city of Olympus. I love portrayals of Hades like this where he is the bad guy in everyone’s story until Persephone shows up.

Amazing book, I love Katee Robert’s books. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I loved Persephone and Hades relationship and how we all hate Zeus. Such a cute relationship but full of spice dang 🥵. Have fun reading
