This book was an easy read, mildly amusing, but nothing new, particularly because I read it five years after it was published.

In the same vein as her viral TEDx talk ‘The Lady Stripped Bare’, journalist Tracey Spicer’s memoir The Good Girl Stripped Bare unearths the indignities of being a woman in a patriarchal world.

This was enjoyable enough, though the humour fell a bit flat for me at times and the shouty caps were very overused. A quick and interesting read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a memoir by the talented Tracey Spicer, all told with a strong sense of humour and honesty. Taking us back to her childhood, the time that set many of her behaviours, and then through her career as a television journalist. With her feminist viewpoint, and on obvious desire to improve the world for, not just Aussie women but, women across the globe, this book shared insights on the plight of women in many countries without taking away from the fact we need to do better here. In this tale, I see we have moved forward however, we still have a long way to go.

Good memoir, with lots of stories about Australian media and her work with aid groups.

Not for me. I don’t think my age is the target audience

There was lots of really important information in this book and I’m glad I read it. For me though, it tended more towards the “Lean In” style of feminism and less towards the “dismantle the entire patriarchal system” which frustrated me at times.

An important book. I skimmed at times but she is very honest and right on.

This was a slow start for me, but once the content moved into Spicer's career experiences I was gripped! Important exposure of issues women face in the workplace.
