Overall: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Spice: 1/5
Summary:
Book 2 of 4 in The Bennett Series that continues Cam, Kerris, Walsh and Jo’s story. I can’t share a ton here without giving away a lot of the book. Instead, I’ll share a few things I loved…
What I Loved:
- Kennedy Ryan knows how to write a book husband! The men she writes are just Chef’s Kiss
- Kerris and Cam go through A LOT in this book (relationship and trust issues, grief, trauma) and she wrote it in such a caring, empathetic and realistic way. There were moments where I could FEEL their pain coming off the pages.
- It really touched me to read about Walsh reconnecting with his father and the grace he learned to give himself as well as the lessons he learned about himself as a man thru that relationship
- As a Certified Lover Girl the ROMANCE was just so good! I love reading about a woman being loved properly and OUT LOUD!
A Few of My Favorite Quotes:
- “And did you honestly think there was anyone who could keep me from coming? I’m not concerned about what you or Cam or anyone else things right now I’m coming. Try to stop me.”
- “I know you hear me. Come back to me….I won’t ever pressure you again. Just come back. I can’t breathe without you here. I need you. I love you.”
- “…You are the most beautiful girl in this room. You are one of the most giving and sweet people I’ve ever met. I’ve known most of these girls most of my life, and I’d pick you over every one of them….”
- “I’m done looking for peace. It knows where to find me.”
- “He pressed her knees back, capturing a sweet invasion, a push into her soul. Her body clung to him, begrudging him every withdrawal. Welcoming every thrust.”
