Carly is a single mom who works on a pediatric oncology floor at the local hospital. She had a bad situation with her previous significant other (violent, crime-committing drug addict) that makes her wary to get into another relationship, especially with her young sons.

Derek is the typical bad boy, a drummer in an up-and-coming band (3 Ugly Guys- which is featured in other Shea books). He is tatted and pierced--- all over if you catch my drift. But he has a soft spot- for his mom, a specific patient that he visits at the children's hospital, and for Carly.

The past and present psychotic ex situation puts Carly and her relationship with Derek in danger. Is she able to move past what happened to her, or will she play it safe?

I felt for Carly and Derek. Both had some shitty situations in the past that really affected their present. In an opposites attract way, they were perfect for each other. Add the supporting characters from books 1-2 of the series, the ex, and a plot twist, and you have an interesting page-turner with an HEA. While this can be read as a stand-alone, it is nice to know the history of the other background characters in the story.

Uncovering Hope by Kacey Shea is book 3 in the uncovering love series.

Carly is a single mum of 2 boys and Derek is a party boy rock musician. You could not feel Ne two people who are more different then these two. Different backgrounds, different goals and at different stages in life however have an instant connection that is evident from their first meeting.

I really enjoyed reading both of these characters, and Kacey excels at creating amazing character profiles that draw all your emotions out.

In typical Kacey fashion, I laughed, I cried, I sympathised and was fully engrossed the whole time. Such a good, addition to an amazing series.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

"Never lose faith, even in despair, because hope is waiting for the perfect time, and uncovering it will deliver all the beauty and joy life can hold".

I am in awe of this book. Total awe. I loved it. Absolutely loved it. From the moment I picked it up to the moment I read the last word, I just couldn't put it down.

You know what I love about new authors? Watching them grow and become more confident in their writing capabilities and story telling and that is exactly what Kacey has done here.
Kacey, you excelled with your writing as the series progressed and I have to say, this last installment is by far your best work to date. Don't get me wrong I loved Evie and Tate and Kate and Jon; but Derek and Carly....they are just the perfect couple. They brought out the best in each other. And the love they felt was oozing from the pages.

I laughed, I smiled, I had tears in my eyes. This book had so much emotion pouring from it it was hard not to be pulled in.

I thought I had it all worked out. I thought I knew what was going to happen then BAM, Kacey decided to through a spanner in the works and pull the rug right from underneath my feet.

Thankyou Kacey. Thankyou for this series, Thankyou for the little adorable cuteness of Eli and Ezra and Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for Carly and Derek.
