I have had this on my shelves since it came out and I am so glad that I finally got around to picking it up!
I devoured this in just a couple of sittings because I was so engrossed in the story and with all of the characters. It is told through the alternating povs of twin sisters Wren and Rose; One twin is raised for the throne and the other is raised in secret by witches.
It’s fast paced and set in a fantastical world that is not too hard to grasp the concept and politics of, but it still manages to be immersive and compelling.
This had everything that I would want from a good ya fantasy novel: enemies to lovers, secrets, magic, forbidden romance and politics.
I cant wait to see what goes down in the next instalment!

I literally finished this book 2 years (and more days, afta that I brought it in London) when only the first book was published. Now there are 2 more and 2 more coming I think

So my opinion. It's a great book. Kind easy to read (for me I mean which is great).
The plot is cool. Not perfect and too much surprising but entertaining
(The end is too fast and quite confusing...).
I like the daracters so much!!! And surprisingly
I prefered Rose over Wrein as a character and for the Romance as well.
It's a ☆☆☆☆(+0.5 maybe)!
A really good Fantasy YA book. And so additive especially with the alternation of point of view (frustrating sometimes haha)
I really want to read the Next book but... I don't have it!!

J'ai littéralement terminé ce livre 2 ans (et plus de jours ) après l'avoir apporté à Londres alors que seul le premier livre était publié. Maintenant, il y en a 2 de plus et 2 autres à venir, je pense
Quoiqu'il en soit, je l'ai fait !!

C'est un excellent livre. Plutôt facile à lire (pour moi, je veux dire, ce qui est bien). L'intrigue est cool. Pas parfaite et trop surprenante mais divertissante. (La fin est trop rapide et assez confuse).
J'aime tellement les personnages !!! Et étonnamment j'ai préféré Rose à Wrein en tant que personnage et pour la romance également.
C'est un ☆☆☆☆(+0,5 peut-être) ! Un très bon livre Fantasy YA. Et donc additif surtout avec l'alternance de point de vue (frustrant parfois haha)

as much as i love adult fantasy, ya is just so fun and easy to binge.
very much enjoyed the characters and romances (tor especially) and will probably be continuing this series
