One of the more violent, exciting, and fast paced Reacher books (which is saying something!) I feel like this book benefits from being a lot more cinographic  than some of the other Reacher novels with a variety of interesting, fleshed-out settings and dynamic side characters. Whilst this sometimes takes the reader on side quests that feel a bit too tangential to the main plot (which can drag slightly at times), I loved it nonetheless. A good, fun, and flashy action book that does what it says on the tin;
whilst the twist ending may be shocking, the writing style itself contains no new surprises

Not my favourite Jack Reacher novel. It was a very slow, ‘slow burn’. I enjoyed the interactions between Reacher and Chang. The plot twist was not what I was expecting, when they thought they’d figured out what was happening, I was like ‘oh yeah, that’s clever’ but then when the secret was revealed, I was shocked. I would have given it 4 stars but I felt the ending was rushed. I do notice that this happens often with Lee. Onto the next!
