This book was so insightful! I thought I knew/understood the enneagram, but this book was so in depth and thorough. I loved it.

'The Road Back to You' is a wonderful journey down the scenic route of what all the Enneagram Types entail. As I read this, I quickly wanted to explore the depths of my Type solely, but I love how the book describes all the motivations, expectations, wounds, and gifts of each. The writing and organization of each chapter was very clear and educational. I definitely recommend this book to someone who wants to explore the Enneagram and its significance to many.

This book does do a great job of explaining all the types and has many, great examples, but it’s quite permeated with Christian language/spirituality that could turn people off. The Enneagram itself is an amazing concept that can totally change peoples lives, but because of the seemingly very specific intended audience for this book, it’s not one I can recommend to everyone. Which is a shame because it does really do a great job of going through each type!

This by far the most engaging Enneagram book I've read apart from the one on Parenting. Everyone seems to recommend this one, but the jury is still out for me and I'm not sure what my thoughts are on the Enneagram in general. I've read several books on it and it still confuses me. I thought I knew my type, but according to this I have been wrong! I mentioned it to a friend who is really into the Enneagram and she said, "I hate that book and actually threw it away it made me so frustrated!" She said a friend of hers is an Enneagram teacher and recommends a different book called Self to Lose Self to Find. So I'll probably read that one for curiosity's sake. =)

Well written, a fun read with a lot of the authors personality being shown. Blatantly convicts and confronts my sinfulness, making me feel exposed to everyone who's read this book and that I've told my "number" to. But... best of all, it gives good steps for spiritual transformation. This book gives a good platform to start building empathy towards neighbors and helps teach the reader how to best love those around them.

For anyone new to the Enneagram with a Christian background, this is a good book to learn the basics.

I like that the book is not arranged in chronological enneagram order, and that it is arranged by the triads.

The writing is simple and easy to follow. The explanations and advice are sound.

I have read better books on the Enneagram that go much deeper, but this one is good enough for those who don’t want to become huge enneagram nerds like me.

I could do with a little less “Evangelical Christian” undertones, but overall, not bad.

Give this a read and you’ll understand yourself and those close to you a lot better.
