This book is definitely written and illustrated for very young children. Preschoolers should enjoy this poem and the pictures of a young bear who goes through a full day, wearing different things as the day and evening progress.
What keeps it from being boring for adults (because it’s a very simple and straightforward account) is that there is a bit of humor included (in both story and illustrations) and then there’s also the vicarious joy that will come from the young kids having this read to them. This is truly for young children, and they are the target audience.
There's something very comforting about this book, going through a normal day's routine.

Was a favorite bed-time read for my daughter and I when she was little. The rhyming nature was pleasant and easy to fall into. The story was enjoyable. The pictures are lovely. Jessie Bear will always be one of my favorites, though my daughter has long since outgrown him.

Nice, comforting story about what Jesse Bear does throughout his day. Rhyming and fun to read with charming illustrations. One of my son's favorite books!

A read down memory lane, this time with Little One, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it!

We read this book as part of our homeschool curriculum Before Five in a Row. It is a cute book. It has helped my 3 year old learn about the importance of cleanliness (through the pictures, not the story). It provides opportunities for seek and finds, and my son loved counting different items on the pages.
