The saga follows a bunch of people in Castro, SF, during the 70s/80s. So obviously there are gays, lesbians, trans, but also hetero people.
It shows the life of these people and is inspired by the author's life in SF. It also shows some slices of the queer culture (bars, language, etc.) and history (AIDS crisis).
