Love seeing explorations and memoirs about places I’m familiar with. This was a very accurate portrayal of CA’s High Desert.

Awesome graphic novel for someone in their teens or early 20s but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Very real look into the authors formative years and path in punk music as an outcast.

Love the desert, love comics, and love punk. This is a delight of a read if any of those scratch a particular itch for you. If you read this in high school it would’ve been like a shopping list for the record store. Great indie comics vibes in this, and even though it’s memoir, the stakes feel real, which keeps the plot moving. Dig it!

This was a really interesting look into the punk world, more specifically the afro punk world. My only understanding of punk is pretty superficial, so it was cool getting a better understanding along with kid James.

The art was nice too. I wasn't sold on it immediately but the style certainly grew on me.
