This is supposed to be a biography, so I am very confused why the author and illustrator invented two fictional characters (and spent so much time dedicated to them). It absolutely distracted from the rest of the graphic novel.

3.5. The art was evocative and the depth of research was clear. Sometimes the focus veered off to related incidents or persons but I wish there had been more focus on Angela Davis' life and experiences. In many ways, the content barely scratched the surface and I was searching for more information. Still a good read and a nice introduction for those not familiar with Davis.

Pretty good history for a graphic novel.

The addition of a fictional character to pigeon hole in white saviorism and fatphobia was weird. Also the insertion of a different fictional character in a move that erases a very very real victim is disrespectful. Both undermine the purpose of labeling this a biography in any sense.

Li para complementar um documentário e fazer um trabalho para a faculdade. Essa HQ é incrível e é uma ótima maneira de contar de maneira fácil uma história com tanto significado, força e importância.

I just found myself wishing they didn’t include the fictional characters as sometimes it felt more about them than the actual subject, Angela Davis

C’est malheureux : il y a plein d’erreurs dans le français écrit, la narration est confuse à en devenir désagréable. Très dommage.
