Morbid curiosity kept me going but this is one of the worst books I've ever had the displeasure of reading. It reads like part erotica, part rambling and indulges in all sorts of misogyny for pure shock value. It doesn't really land imo, because the main character is just kind of spineless and the concept is poorly executed overall.

I’ve never loved and hated a book so much at the same time. The protagonist is despicable (all the talk of r*** and gross descriptions of sex and bodies in general). But it’s also so so fascinating, philosophically compelling and hilarious at times. The events are just so interesting to read about and the writing is mostly really great. It was definitely one of those books that stick with you forever, for better or worse.
