This was in many ways a horrible read. It was brutal with highly extremely explicit scenes. But it truly changed my way of thinking in many ways.

It discussed the concepts of how we as human have a multiple of personalities inside our one grande which doesn't always get to express itself. We all have the capabilities of being the man or the women, the Nazi or the communist. It simply depends on our genetes and how we've been raised in this soceitym

And by accepting this fact it grows a while lot more natural when you get desires which don't aligh with your grande personality, and maybe sometimes you should let those in minority choose and it will help you as a whole grow.

Morbid curiosity kept me going but this is one of the worst books I've ever had the displeasure of reading. It reads like part erotica, part rambling and indulges in all sorts of misogyny for pure shock value. It doesn't really land imo, because the main character is just kind of spineless and the concept is poorly executed overall.

remember to apply your media literacy and not cheat on your wife just because the die said so!
the concept is very interesting. convincing even, and rhinehart explored the many facets and questions one might have trying to pursue dicelife.
the sex scenes are too gratuitous to me personally. like sure the dice is telling you to have sex with all these women but did it even cross your mind to be celibate for a while
food for thought

This book should have the tag line - one man's excuse to do whatever he wanted at whatever cost. Interesting idea - poor execution. I don't think the book has aged well

I’ve never loved and hated a book so much at the same time. The protagonist is despicable (all the talk of r*** and gross descriptions of sex and bodies in general). But it’s also so so fascinating, philosophically compelling and hilarious at times. The events are just so interesting to read about and the writing is mostly really great. It was definitely one of those books that stick with you forever, for better or worse.

The Dice Man is at first an exciting look into living truly random. Ever curious what it would be like to be a character in an dungeons and dragons campaign in real life?

That’s essentially the premise of The Dice Man. Initially it is an exciting concept, living life completely randomly to remove all inhibitions. But the entire idea begins to grow dull.

Also heads-up lots of just random gratuitous sex.

The book for definitely be trimmed down a 100-200 pages and still get its point across.

I can definitely see how people compare this to Fight Club. A sort of manifesto to changing your life.
