This would be a wonderful book to share one-on-one. There is so much detail in the illustrations, any reader really deserves the luxury of time.

a good book that goes through travelling by plane for kids - however what I liked most was the mixed race family. I am always happy to see books that reflect a bit of my children's family.

Finally, a modern book about the airport! Perfect for my preschooler. The family we travel with is multiracial which is a welcome touch.

This is a great book. The text is matter-of-fact: a young boy explaining what it is like to go to the airport and travel on a plane. But the illustrations are what make this book stand out. First, the main family is mixed-race: a light-skinned mom and a dark-skinned dad, with 2 children. Second, the airport is filled with people of all ages, skin colors, abilities, types of dress - exactly what you would see at any modern airport. Third, there are lots of fun details to look for, following several little dramas not related by the text. And finally, the book depicts the modern, post-9/11 experience at the airport - long lines for security, charging stations for smartphones, and meeting loved ones outside of baggage claim. Overall, an excellent book.

A fantastic social story to help young riders understand what to expect at an airport and on a plane. I loved the illustrations and how they tell an entirely different set of stories.

A book that manages to capture the frenetic energy of going to the airport in a way that makes it interesting, not stressful.

My girls adored this book, especially following the "blah blah blah" cell phone lady throughout the pictures. :-D

What a perfectly drawn and written book preparing kids for all the excitement, procedures, waiting, and new experiences that happen when you get to fly a plane! It felt fresh and modern with great diversity represented!

This book does a lot and it does it well. It tells young readers about airports, it tells a story about a family traveling, and it shows a diverse cast of characters. The art is engaging, fun, and has tons of details kids will love to pick out.
