Be still my heart. Jude and Millie were absolutely a story that made me fall more for the brother’s best friend trope just a bit more. Jude, broken beautiful man that he is feels undeserving of love, or maybe just incapable of love until his friend Cree’s little sister moves into their shared home freshman year. Everyone gets the speech, “stay away from my sister,” but Millie is a magnet that draws Jude. She’s a beacon of light that calls him from his darkness of endless, meaningless hookups. She makes him want to be better. While he tries to fight it, he can’t because she’s Millie, but hiding and a realization may be proof that broken boys really can’t love, or can they?
The Boys continue to give us amazing stories of heartache, redemption, love, and proof that anything can happen. Millie and Jude were amazing and the fact that he had so much going on behind the scenes, in his head that he’d never shared with anyone until Millie just showed how much she meant to him and how she was a real force in his life. The fact that these two were so hot, even with Millie’s inexperience was just..

Broken Boys Can’t Love is book #5 in The Boys series and is a best friends sibling romance. Jude really tried to take over the #1 spot in my heart from Teddy. Jude experienced a horrible heartbreak and turned into a huge playboy. When Cree’s younger sister moved in, the last thing he wanted was for Jude to use his sister. But the connection that Jude felt towards Millie was nothing like he ever experienced before.
Millie is in her freshman year at college and is rooming with her brother and his friends. It would be no big deal except she finds herself very attracted to Jude. They aren’t always nice to each other, especially when Jude is bringing one of his many girls around. Their forced proximity has them getting to know each other and they find themselves enjoying the simple things together, like watching The Vampire Diaries.
I love how Millie was such a strong feisty character and didn’t let her age or inexperience shy away from what she wanted. Jude… ah what to say about that man. He was holding on to so much pain that he refused to let go. He created this manwhore persona as a way to avoid getting hurt. Jude had so much growth throughout this book and I just love the way he opened himself up to love again. Jude and Millie had a strong friendship that turned to love, but hiding things from your brother/ best friend isn’t easy. Will their relationship be able to survive Cree finding out? Or will someone else ruin their relationship?

millie moves into her brothers house at the start of her freshman year, where she has 2 other roommates besides her brother. jude is your typical college playboy and millie is a virgin. when she gets paired up with a boy for a school project, she starts crushing on him a bit and asks jude for help with boys since she's inexperienced. i love how they get close while he's helping her and they build a friendship before things go any farther. however jude doesn't think he's worth it and holds back a lot. i was a little sad about the lack of grovelling on jude's part but i did enjoy the growth of his character throughout. their relationship was sweet and i love the friendship they built before anything.

I really enjoyed this book except for one certain scene otherwise is would be 5 stars. I loved the chemistry, the characters and the vibes of this book were amazing.
The only part I didn’t like was the kiss between Zara and Millie. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. Zara being bisexual came out of no where, and as a bisexual women being sexualized by men since I’ve come out has been a constant battle. A straight women kissing another women to get the attention of men just encourages men to think its ok to sexualize bisexuality. It just frustrated me personally.

DNF at 24%. Too much unnecessary drama, cringe, and the relationship/tension building felt forced.

Nothing particularly special, but it's my favorite trope and it was done pretty well!

I went into this liking both characters very much, loving the brothers best friend trope, but for some reason I had to take this book very slowly. I happened to absolutely love Cree from the previous book, I mean he’s in my top three book boyfriend list, so reading a book about his little sister and his friend made me cringe but also obviously curious. (And while we’re on the topic of Cree I didn’t love his depiction in this book. I understood that it’s from his little sister‘s point of view so it’s obviously a little biased however I felt like he was really made out to be overbearing and kind of the bad guy!)
I really liked seeing Jude‘s inner monologue‘s and understanding why he acts the way he does as well as seeing previous scenes play out from his and Millie’s point of view. Millie was everything. I knew she would be but wow! She’s sweet, she’s sassy, her character did not change once the book was about her and I LOVE that. Sometimes I find that characters change from book to book once it’s about them and the author gets in their head however Millie was consistent and I greatly appreciated it. Jude was the perfect antihero I’m general and I absolutely swooned at the way he treated Millie and paid attention to her interests! He was better than I imagined!
The steamy scenes were steamy, the sweet scenes were super sweet! I really enjoyed this book overall and love the introduction to Jude’s brother… hoping he gets a book in this world too!

Broken boys can’t love, that’s what Jude thought for so many years. Not feeling like enough, going through life in a fog, making himself out to be someone he’s not. Until he met Millie. His best friends sister, of limits, or that’s what he keeps telling himself.
Millie is sunshine in a person. Bright, happy, beautiful. She loves her family and had a great childhood, but longed for her independence. Now attending the same college as her brother, she gets that taste of freedom. What she doesn’t expect is to fall for the one person her brother warns her about. Her brothers best friend. Her new roommate.
Jude’s persona as a player comes at a cost. One he didn’t see coming. His past relationship trauma catapults him into thinking his not good enough. But Millie peals back the layers he hides and slowly reveals the person he pushed away for so long.
Millie is completely new to the whole dating thing. Especially everything that happens after said date. Her insecurities cause her to ask for help from the one person she shouldn’t. But the more she gets to know Jude, his walls start to come down.
“Millie Madison makes me feel alive in a way I never have before. It’s like before she graced my life with her kaleidoscope of colors I was living in black and white. There was nothing wrong before, but now my life is so much better because she’s in it.”
“We don’t always choose who we fall in love with. Sometimes it happens in an instant. Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes it’s with someone from the wrong side of the tracks, or it’s with the person who’s always been right there. Jude kisses me, and as my eyes close, sinking into his kiss, I think about how sometimes you fall for your brother’s friend, the guy who’s all wrong on paper, but is perfectly right in your heart.”
