I’m not one who can sit quietly & meditate , so the book was a bit too mystical minded for me personally. But it could be helpful to those who can connect this way. This book had some positive affirmations that are useful to me though so it was an ok , albiet slow to want to pick up to read for me.

I was very hesitant going into this book. Throughout my yoga teacher training, I have not loved the practice of mantra. Gabby uses a lot of affirmation and manifestation tools that truly made me rethink the idea that mantra isn’t for me. I love the idea of completely surrendering control and fully believing that the Universe is on your side. This book has actively made me look towards love in my everyday difficult situations and it’s made me change my perception of others’ daily actions. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is questioning their place in the world and curious about leading with love.

This book was, in a word, life-changing. It blasted the doors off of my ego and put me face to face with my fears. I’ve been absorbed in Gabby’s website, YouTube channel, & recorded talks over the past few weeks as I read TUHYB. The messages were loud and clear for me and, if you’re struggling with goals or with living your best life, pick this book up immediately.

I really like the idea of the universe having my back. I can believe it. However, this book ... I can't put my finger on it but it felt empty or lacking something, as if the author was holding back the real "meat" (i.e., full truth) behind the premise behind the book. The examples felt shallow and I highly doubt the author is shallow, so that's why I say there is something behind the scenes not fully in the light. The book has a premature birth vibe and prob could have taken more time to let divine right timing do its thing.

Generic stuff. Felt too ~white girl privilege~ for me. A lot of her personal stories I couldn’t relate to at all. I think she this example where she runs off with her boyfriend to their beach house or something when she’s like 17. Cannot relate!!!!

Never gave any unique insights that I’ve never heard before. There’s a lot of better books written by white women that don’t feel so icky

Let me start by saying I think Gabby is incredible! The message of this book is beautiful. However, I don’t know if I loved the execution.

Each chapter almost contradicted another. It was giving… “Do this, but don’t do this” and “you’re the problem for trying too hard, but you’re also probably not loving and believing in yourself enough.” I thought it was interesting how early on in the book she referred to people trying to conceive and putting too much focus on that being the reason they don’t get pregnant, but then she did the same thing during her journey after advising friends not to do this. Once again, not at all an attack on the author as we are all human and can’t always be perfect.

However, I was trying hard not to pass judgement by thinking things like “practice what you preach.” All that said, I still am a fan and appreciated all the exercises in this book. It’s super easy to read and digest. I truly am doing my best to lead with love and trust that Universe has my back.

This book delivers a very clear and admittedly important message - to be happy and to manifest what we want from and in life, we must rewire our brains to operate not from fear, but from love. However, Bernstein used a bunch of first-world-problem stories that the readers could hardly relate to in delivering that one message, which she could have made clear in one chapter. (I remember flipping through the book and thinking hmm it's strange that the font is so large and the paragraph is sooo centred. Intuition, intuition.) The exercises she proposed were quite useful, but, just like the central message of the book, could have been explained in one chapter. Instead she drags on with endless trivial middle-class examples that do not even sound real. This is the only work of Bernstein I have ever read, and I doubt if that will change. She sounds like one of those 'gurus' who just want to sell their programmes/workshops/whatever. Very disappointed.
