So many unanswered questions! Not only that but the ending was awful. It was a 'how to turn 60 pages into 5' kind of ending. I'm really disappointed because I actually enjoyed the first 40-50%.

This second volume was LEAGUES better than the first; filled with court intrigue, exciting twists, stronger characters and MUCH less sloppy kissing! The ending was a bit rushed and shaky but let’s face it, that was all the time we really needed for the story and it had to end one of two ways. I would have preferred a third, but the ending chosen was decidedly acceptable.

Meh. I mean, I liked it alright, but it could have been executed better. Everything happened too abrupt with no real explanation. The ending made little sense, it just happened and we're just supposed to accept it. But like I said, it was alright

Okay, no thank you. Love triangles everywhere, even though they weren't really love triangles, but they were. The story took a turn I absolutely didn't like. And Luna was so bloody annoying.

I waited up past midnight to download this on release day and, while I did enjoy the book, it ended very suddenly. One minute our heroine was in dire peril then the next it was all over and she was being crowned. I might have a bit of whiplash.
After rescuing Fowler, the couple (?) find themselves in a neighbouring kingdom, detained at His Majesty's pleasure. There was a lot of emotional angst and yo-yoing of affections, to the point where I couldn't quite work out where the book was going. Digger, who I thought was a great character, wagged his tail once and disappeared, so I'm not sure why he was ever introduced (with such detail) into the story.
Not what I was expecting after the tense, funny, thrilling first book.

Toda esta duología podría haber sido un solo libro y le podrían haber sacado muchísimas escenas que están al pedo. El primer libro estaba bueno, pero este es cualquier cosa, las cosas se resuelven muy rápido

I would not recommend this series to anyone. The resolution to the story arc is not satisfying. The ending is rushed with a lot of unanswered questions that were set up in Book 1

Teaser Quote: There's some really great moments in this book and I'm sure you wouldn't be surprised that a majority of my favorite quotes happened around kissing scenes. (*fake whispers* Kissing is my favorite.)
His hands burned a trail everywhere, roaming my back, callused fingertips stroking my nape and burrowing into my hair. I trembled as he tugged my head back, his lips gliding over my throat before coming back to my mouth. "You're the best thing to ever happen to me and I wouldn't want to be anywhere except here with you."

*Disclaimer: An e-copy of this title was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. However, that did not influence this review in any way. All thoughts, quotes, and opinions will be of this version and not of the published edition.

Actual rating of 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up simply because every time I had to set this down, I was anxious to pick it back up again to see how this story would conclude. Despite its readability quality, I have to say I missed the quicker pacing and the "high stakes" feeling that came with the plot from the previous one. Both of those seemed to pale in comparison to the effect they had in Reign of Shadows. Of course I adored Fowler and Luna, but that's when they were actually getting quality time together. In this novel they were met with several spoilerish circumstances that kept them apart and that was a bit of a bummer, to be perfectly honest. Additionally, I felt like the ending was a little anti-climatic and too ribbons and bows in basically a blink of an eye. Though, on the flip side, the epilogue was made of all kinds of swoony sweetness that I was excited to have conclude the book.

However, overall, I really did enjoy both books, even if I really loved the first and only kind of liked the sequel.

A very special thanks to HarperTEEN and Edelweiss for providing me with an advanced copy of this title.

Okay so I have a lot of issues with this book. First, I feel like this duology could have just been one book with 2 parts because they both seemed pretty short. Second, at some point I seriously stopped rooting for Fowler and Luna because they're relationship just got on my nerves. They barely knew anything important about each other and the only basis for their relationship is that they survived the Outside together. Third, I swear it was basically the same thing as the last book, except instead of Fowler saving Luna, Casan mostly saved her and then of course at the end, Luna saved the day. Last, I really didn't like the ending. I barely understood what happened when Luna went underground for the second time and killed the "queen" dweller. It was way too rushed. Plus, did Luna tell the dwellers to stop killing people like what the heck. I didn't really understand the point of Luna controlling the dwellers other than killing Cullan and Tebald. I mean it was interesting enough for me to finish but I had a lot of problems with it.
