I absolutely adore this novel. My God, I hated Britt-Marie the first time I read My Grandmother Adked Me To Tell You She's Sorry and I hated her the second time but you can't help but love her in this book. She is so misunderstood, and she is always worried about what others think because she has never been enough for those who are supposed to care. She is strong and she is caring and under the surface she is a big heart of gold. The kids in this book are incredible. The story is terribly sad, but like all Fredrik Backman books so amazingly hopeful. I love him. I love his books. I love his characters. I live Britt-Marie

Not my absolute favorite, but I have yet to read a Backman book that I didn't like. He really understands people.

I am not sure how such a charming book can grab you and keep your attention in the same way a more suspenseful book could. I adore the characters in all of the books written by Backman. Britt Marie continues her journey but must find her independence. The combination of her gentle mannered ways and to the point statements wanted me to see Britt Marie walk into my town. Another great book by an author I am glad to have heard about.

I don't know how Backman always manages to craft characters that can cause me to cheer and also can break my heart! His use of sense of community is truly what touches my soul. Who doesn't want to be changed for the better by being around strangers that have the potential to become family? Just lovely.
