Alyssa does an amazing job of walking the reader through many of life’s emergencies and how to save for them. I love all her real life examples from herself and others and how she shows the readers to be prepared for all life throws at you. This is such an excellent book and should be a must read for anyone on their financial journey.

A very simple accessible read, which is fine, just not what I was looking for I think.

While I think that some of the suggestions in this book wouldn't work for the very low-income, I thought it was a very nonjudgmental and empathetic view of finances. The author even went as far as to include things like disability, childcare, and abusive relationships and how and why situations like that can compound financial difficulties. She also explored the lack of financial education that so many of us grew up with.
