I adored Vlad finally meeting his match. Hoping the next one is as shock full of adventure and love.

I always liked Vlad and I am a bit bummed about the abrupt ending. But it was a great read!!!! Loved it! ❤️

Ms. Frost is brilliant. I absolutely loved Vlad's book. I'm so happy Vlad's story is being told. I finished this book in one day. I couldn't put it down.
I can't wait to read Twice Tempted in 2013.

this is a spin off of a series that i gave up on a while ago but i remember liking the main character and heck, it was free! it was okay...I'm just not into the genre that much and the whole electricity thing was a bit weird.

4.5/5 stars.
Where the hell do I start, because this book was sooo good.
Even as when I pressed the next button in my Kindle knowing it was finished, I wished there was like, an epilogue of an epilogue, because I just didn't want it to end yet. When I progressed over 50%, I thought that was far too close to the end. This would be the second day I've slept later than 1:30 am, thank God it's the holidays for me. xD
It was just such an exciting read. The heart-pounding suspense, the sensual romance...
If I liked Vlad before, I just love him now. His gentleness with Leila, his sheer arrogance...mmm... What's not to love? He made a declaration of not being able to love her, but if I recall, Cat didn't confess she loved Bones straight away, and it makes their relationship more realistic. Personally, I think that he's in love with Leila already, but he just doesn't call it love. Actions speak louder than words, right? ;)
Leila was not kick-ass in the way Cat was kick-ass, but she's... ballsy. She can hold her ground around Vlad. She's able to think rationally in a number of situations a dozen other characters in other books would not be able to pull off with the same calm. She's able to defend herself too! For that, I admire her.
If I have anything at all I disliked about the book, (and believe me, it's hard to find much to dislike about it) I would say it's the ending.. gah.. the ending. Actually, it's REALLY good, but since it's a series, there would naturally be things left unresolved, and the romance-reader in me grumbles. I just simply didn't want it to end. That makes me a little sad, and I didn't want to finish a book a little sad, so that's why I'm knocking half a star off. I'm probably not making any sense, gosh, it's like 2 am now.
It's not a cliffhanger ending, but I wish the release day for the next book was today, because I didn't want to part with the characters just yet (and I really, really want to know what's going to happen. There. I said it. The real reason I knocked half a star off).
So to sum it up, I'm really excited about what's to come for the next book, and hopefully, books to come. It's been such a blast, and I enjoyed every plot twist. Hats off to Ms. Frost. I devoured it and enjoyed every page and to hell with sleep. It was worth every second awake.

I’ve been waiting to read about Vlad! Once Burned is a spin-off to the my favorite Night Huntress series, Jeaniene Frost never disappoints. Leila the main character is a human with special powers who captures the attention of the famous vampire Vlad, he then helps to find out who’s after her. He’s arrogant and very ruthless but Leila still can’t help but fall for him but Vlad has never loved anyone since what happened with his first wife. We find out more about his past and Tavia Gilbert is always on point with the accents in the audio books, makes me want to visit Romania!

This was the first Jeaniene Frost novel I have read, and I was quite impressed and will definitely search out more of her work. Although what I would refer to as a light read, it was quite exciting and well written. I fell for Vlad within the first few chapters (I mean who wouldn't?) and anxiously turned the pages wanting to know where his relationship with Frankie would end up. If you are into vampires and want a great summer read, this won't disappoint!

This was SO much fun. It was more campy than I was expecting. I kind of loved that Vlad was written as truly grey because why wouldn't an ancient vampire be grey?? His experience of human feelings should be different.
Im excited for the rest of the series.
