This for me was very long, especially having to do with her as a child. I really do think that at least one third of the book was her as a child in the memories she had of Nova and her family.
Then it picked up, but it was still kind of slow for me. But because everything felt so monotonous I wasn’t very interested once I’ve picked up.
I finished it I did cry a couple of times and I mean ugly cry, but I wouldn’t reread this. I do think that it’s a good recommendation for people who like MC romances!
But the first book in the series is my favourite for now!

What I think I love most about this book is that Lila and Nova, are two very real and very human people. They make mistakes, they hurt each other, and they both have trauma that kept them apart for awhile. But you see the love they have for each other and you can’t help but root for them and just want them to find their happy ending.
The fact that they weren’t even a couple for the majority of the book broke my romantic heart, but it made sense. Nova had so much trauma he was carrying for close to two decades, that it’s not a surprise he couldn’t accept Lila’s love.
And my sweet girl Lila, you were down bad. But I love that she never lost that love. Because she was the one person that could show Nova he was worth more than what he believed. But that doesn’t mean she was weak, in the end she knew the love she deserved and when she couldn’t keep giving herself for nothing in return.
Plot wise… y’all, I think this was more a character book than plot book. But the story we did get had me with more questions than answers. I’m excited for the future of the Fallen Men series because there is so many stories to tell and so many characters to be loved.
3.5/5 on the spicy scale. We don’t get any scenes truly between the two until the second half. Nova has a mouth on him though.. woo.
Moderate: Violence and Blood
Minor: Adult/minor relationship and Abortion
