I loved this book from cover to cover. Bride and Devyn made a perfect match ;)

I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy this one initially as Devyn is an egotistical ass. He starts out with actions that are borderline non-con, he walks the fine line with his every woman will want me instantly thing. Bride though isn't falling at his feet from minute one. She's got a stronger will than he expects and he's more and more intrigued. I do love Bride though. She's awesome. And well, Devyn grew on me throughout the story.
Bride has never know anything about her past or what it means to be a vampire. She's spent years searching for her best friend and when she finally catches her scent it's all around this asshole. She's determined to win their little battle of wills and save her friend. I really enjoyed her confidence and determination. Bride isn't going to take flack from anybody. She can hold her own and knows it. I felt for her in how little she knows about what she really is. And of course there's a fair bit behind all of that.
All in all this is probably my favorite of this series so far, though it's still not my favorite of the author's books.

I would have enjoyed it more if he had more confidence. Way to insecure for my taste.

It was good, but again too much internal monologue obsessing about sex. I wish there was more regarding the overall plot.

I really enjoyed Seduce the Darkness. I did feel it started a bit slower than the previous installments but it picked up quickly and satisfyingly. The main characters are strongly written with intense characteristics that made for both a funny and sexy ride. Ms. Showalter's penchant for great laughter throughout was on display and I was rooting for everyone. Can't wait to continue the Alien Huntress series.

3.5 stars.
First GS novel I've read.
I haven't read the first three novels in this series but after the first 50-100 pages I wasn't confused about the world or the people. So it's a fairly easy book to pick up and enjoy even if you haven't read the previous novels.
It was good, I enjoyed the story and I was very interested in finding out what happened to the characters. Bride was a fun character and I liked that she gave Devyn a run for his money. I loved that Bride was so protective of Aleaha and that she softened when they were reunited, it showed a vulnerable side and gave her another layer.
There are a few things though that kept this from being amazing for me. I wasn't as in love with Devyn as I hoped I would be. He was hot, funny, sexy, and very sure of himself but there was something lacking in his personality and I honestly can't pinpoint what that was but it bothered me for most of the novel. Also for some reason his very experienced past got on my nerves. It's odd, I've read books where there have been heroes that have been less than celibate and I still love them but Devyn's bothered me. And the last thing that kind of annoyed me, the guys in StD were kind a whiny, it wasn't there all the time but it was there enough where I noticed it.
Overall I could not put this book down, even though I'm not a huge fan of Gena Showalter's writing style I was still engaged and eager to know what would happen next. I'd definitely recommend this installment.
