This book is more sweary-y than its shorter counterparts. It's nice to see Murderbot's personality grow as it shifts into a less-sec-unit-exclusive way of living. It was also great to get ART back and learn more about its crew. I should be transparent that I read the first 5 books in the series in a week and I'm batch reviewing them. Some of the contents blends together. It's really interesting to see Amena and Murderbot's relationship develop, and to see how it's come to love and be love as it's able.

murderbot novel perfect no notes. reading this series really came at the perfect time in my life. I guess I needed a snarky emotionally avoidant companion with a lot of recognizable coping skills but also a lot of love and care in its partially augmented but mostly organic heart. 

enough feelings! book thoughts. I love the various levels of consciousness and activity. It’s like having multiple screens of interesting inputs but in narrative form. I’ve never read anything like it before and it’s super entertaining, fun, and modern. A wonderful representation of how we interact with modern tech, but made more fanciful and fun and accelerated because of Murderbot’s enhanced  processing abilities. Basically it’s fun to feel like you’re just as smart as murderbot, processing so many interesting inputs at once as he is. It’s like you get all the benefits and satisfaction of the analysis and hard work, without doing any of the work. I think it’s a triumph of creativity and readability!

When I say I can’t get enough Murderbot I really really mean it. 

Incredible story wonderfully written and phenomenal characters.

I was excited to read a full-length Murderbot novel and was not disappointed. Bit by bit throughout the series, we've seen Murderbot's new experiences and relationships chip away at the trauma it held from having lived under the control of the company for so long. It's connection to Dr. Mensah has most significantly shaped Murderbot so far, but in this installment, I was delighted to see
ART
return and take center stage. Seeing them fall to pieces or be willing to rip worlds apart to save the other, demonstrates the deep devotion of their relationships even though they struggle to express it with words.
