This hit all the right notes of historical period, romantic entanglements, intrigue and mystery. The mystery for the book was fine, but overarching mystery moves along nicely and the book allowed for some great romance. Very sad I have to wait for the next one!

Another good entry in the series, with a bit of a twist at the end. The series are individual mysteries, with one overarching mystery about Electra's past, which will be interesting to see where that goes in future volumes in the series.

Action, mystery, romance, WWII; what’s not to love?! Also, going to be reading the next book ASAP.

This series keeps getting better. During WWII, Electra (Ellie) McDonnell is tapped again by the elusive Major Ramsey to do some spying, this time in the small town of Sunderland, England. On her first day there a man drops dead in the street outside her boarding house, a victim of poisoning. She becomes friendly with some of her neighbors while gathering information that eventually points to a German spy network. Ellie's unique skill set of lock-picking and safe-cracking come in handy during the case, and the attraction between her and the major heats up when they find themselves in danger. I look forward to the next installment in this series by the author of the Amory Ames series (one of my favorites).
