Huh. Not sure how I feel about this one. The storyline is weak. Slade is a man-whore and a stripper, due to a tragedy. He uses sex to calm him down, like some people use drugs. Then he meets Aspen, and he changes. He only wants her, blah, blah, blah. This book is pretty raunchy, sexually. If you are into it, then this book is right up your alley. If you are looking for a deep story about a man who gets a second chance at redemption, this is NOT the book for you. Overall, not very good.

description

So the story starts with Slade, who's a stripper and a manwhore who only sleeps with women once in order to not have any attachments. One night at the club, there's a new girl that he sees and just has to have. But despite basically eye-f*cking him all night, she says she's not interested. Good thing for Slade, she just happens to be the person his roommate said was going to stay with them for a week.

There's a lot of back and forth....and honestly, Aspen started getting on my nerves with how she'd be all into Slade and then suddenly snap out of it and decide she hates him, when he didn't do anything except look hot.

Essentially, most of the book is your typical "super hot manwhore who refuses to settle suddenly only wants one woman for no real reason except that he thinks she's attractive" story, and Slade is such a charismatic character that it actually works ok, and I liked it.

But the twist, where you find out about Slade's backstory, honestly kind of ruined this for me. It was a bit too heavy. And going from what he had before to a quickie insta-love relationship with Aspen, who really doesn't have much of a personality and feels like a very shell kind of character, just felt kind of cheap and not enough. Made worse when you find out more about Aspen later and how much of a doormat she really is.

I really liked the first 75% of the book. Super smutty goodness. But the last 25% was too much of a downer and just didn't feel like a satisfying conclusion to Slade's story

I received this copy in exchange for an honest review. Slade Merrick is a woman's sexual fantasy come true. He is hotter than hell and will give you a night that you'll never forget. He likes it dirty and rough. Slade has it good. Working as a stripper he has any number of willing women at any time. He gets off on it just as much as they do. One night and one night only, Slade will do dirty naughty things to you and you'll love it. Having sex seems to dull the pain he is trying to escape. Slade's world is about to get rocked when Aspen walks into it. She is attracted to him but acts like she hates him. That only makes Slade want her more. What is it about her that makes him want more?

I could not put this book down! Slade is a hottie and I'm in love. This book is sexy but also has a great story to it. The characters were well written as well as the emotions felt while reading the story. You can just feel the attraction between Slade and Aspen. There are some very hot and steamy scenes throughout the book! This is definitely a guilty pleasure book with a little something extra. I highly recommend this book and give it a 5 stars.

I knew what I was picking up, it just wasn’t that great.
The story was not good. The mmc was way too aggressively sexual and not in a good way. The fmc was all “ I’m not going to sleep with you” then five seconds later.
The majority of the book was over the span of a week so it was low-key instalovey. They defiantly are a couple that break up a month later.

The first half of the book was totally hot and lead up to a very heavy, emotional blow. Slade turned out to be a lot more than just an incredibly hot body.

Bad writing, bad story line. But the sex scenes were H-O-T. So that deserves another star.
