I generally liked it but wasn’t my fave by any means for the Windy City series so far. Also more than a few times.

I was so bored and didn’t buy into the connection between the main characters. Why does this author fixate on the female MCs thighs so much. How is qualified as a pastry chef to be a nanny.

Saying I was Excited about this book is an understatement. The Windy City series has quickly become one of my favorite sports romance series with two amazing first books.
This one was still good but I didn't enjoy it as much. Which is sad sad sad if you ask me. I don't know what happened because nothing was wrong about it but I just didn't feel the same spark I did in the first two books.
It had tropes I enjoy reading about : single dad/nanny, opposite attracts, found family and age gap. Like always, Liz Tomforde creates characters that I love. They're smart, quick witted, funny and what I like the most about the relationships in her books, is that they communicate. Kai was honestly the cutest, most caring dad and I loved every scene of him with his son, Max. Actually, I loved every scene with Max, full stop. I also really liked Miller, who was driven, funny and who wasn't afraid of telling it how it is.
However, I really think I would have enjoyed this book even more if it was shorter, and being a huge slow-burn romance lover, it feels weird saying that. But in this case, the slow-burn part wasn't really slow-burn. They started liking/loving each other pretty quickly, even though they didn't do anything about it for a while, and maybe that's what bothered me. I loved the beginning, then lost some interest in the middle, to then get excited again towards the end.
Overall, it was a good book, a good romance, but not my favorite in the series.
Also, I'd like to give a honorable mention to Monty, because WHAT A MAN! I want a book with him as the MC!!!
