Picks right up from the last book. Actually quite like these short, fast reads.

I do wish that all of the relationships had a bit more exploration and depth and that there was more of a scale of power to measure by (e.g. Maz is strong but we don't get to really see anyone else's shadow magic)

Loads better than the first book!

The crazy lack of editing typos is quite distracting though.

I would argue that the first and second book could and should have been one book.
