The most important thing to establish about every woman in this was how fuckable they were, even the woman who was a giant spider.

(Parts of her were fuckable)

The title sums it up really! It’s a little bit Terry Pratchett, strangely compulsive, but I couldn’t begin to explain what happened. It might be worth another read and I’m sort of interested in continuing with the series. Nah. Life’s too short.

This has as many twists, turns and dead ends as the map on the book cover. Vivid, ambitious, absorbing and unique this is a very clever premise which manages to amuse, entertain, thrill, scare and puzzle the reader all at once. I loved this book and I adored the strange and creepy town of Rotherweird and all it's wonderful inhabitants both good and down right bad. I fear that we have only just scratched the surface with this book but very much look forward to others that may follow.

Started and finished date - 15.02.25 to 17.02.25.
My rating - Three Stars.
This book was okay read but I didn't love it and I like the cover of book. The atmosphere was pretty great and the world building was well written. The paced of plot was bit slow for my liking and I think this book could be one hundred pages shorter also I like the characters but I still would like them be flash bit more.

Abandoned on page 108 of 454. I just don’t care what happens. I think there are too many characters and I haven’t really clicked with any of them. It’s well written but I’m not curious about the mystery and can’t be bothered to read more.

Truly and utterly brilliant!

It takes a few pages to “get going” but this is a genuinely excellent read, the whole concept is superb - just about out-there enough to get you interested, but then brilliantly draws you in..... I’ve already bought volumes 2 & 3 as I’m utterly invested in the story....... not to mention the brilliantly named characters- who doesn’t love the idea of being called Oblong?

Stop reading this review and buy the book already!

Apart from the illustrations this book is far too muddled. Too many characters which you never really warm too. A shame really. I think it could work well as a series but its not an alluring book. I just lost interest.
