I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 4 of the Haven Book Series& the best one yet but is a standalone, though you may appreciate some of the characters more if you've read the previous books in the series. The book's blurb lets you know what to expect. It's a good somewhat enemies to lovers third person dual pov romance.
Being brought up the way that she waswith her father firmly believing in set gender roles has made Andi more than determined to achieve her goal. Although she has a successful remodeling business, she wants to become an architect. She has sacrificed personal time & isn't going to stop when she encounters problems. Her goal oriented mind is what leads her to work together with Eric, even if it goes against her better judgement. Similarly, Eric is also trying to break free from his father's suffocating nature. Aside from his father's negative words, Eric simply doesn't agree with his father's underhanded ways of handling business. Eric is more considerate & means well, though he always doesn't make the best decisions. So, although he isn't sure if he can fully trust her, he knows that Andi is his best chance at gaining freedom from his dad.
Neither of them truly hate the otherlike their dads do but they are wary of each other. You'll like seeing them question what they've been told growing up as part of their family feud. The romance is a closed door slow burn. As they're closing working together, their attraction that has always been between them is difficult to ignore. However, their romance is more about actions rather than sweet exchanges. The conflict was developed well though I would've liked to read more about Eric's aftermath but I think readers will be satisfied with how things ended. Overall, I enjoyed this book & think it's the best written one in terms of pacing & development.
