Honestly, this book is fantastic. And I realize, after having seen the movie numerous times but never having read the book, it is a delightfully faithful adaptation.

Novalee Nation is a great character - one you can root for, one you wish to see succeed. But perhaps most important is that she is a believable one.

A very good book. Hearty (pun-intended) and quirky. The characters within the book are well-rounded and very human. The incidents that befall all of the characters really make you feel for them. I got more involved with this story and these people than I have in quite some time. Letts has a talent for storytelling and I'm so glad that I finally got around to reading this book. One of my new favorites.

Well, this book was a little hard for me to get through. Having seen the movie, my expectations got in the way of my reading. But after finally getting into it, I actually did enjoy it. There were certain aspects that I could have done without, but it was a good book.
