Super cute, a collection of short YA romances. This was written during early COVID quarantine and when I was reading it, it was a bit jolting to hear about something that I was currently experiencing. However, there is some good LGBTQ+ representation and the shorts are each quite comforting.

I only took off stars because I’m not used to reading collections of short stories, it’s like I have to reset my mind every 30 pages.

A new romance won’t cure your depression. If you’re in therapy because you can barely get out of bed, a boyfriend can’t be the only thing you’re excited about. And depression isn’t cute. It isn’t staying curled up in bed with hot tea.
Starting a relationship with your roommate? Terrible idea. Doing that after being disowned by your family for coming out? Even worse. Again, the story is pushing the idea of one person being this magical answer.
The pizza delivery one was cute, as was the dog-walking story and the Chinese take-out story.
Across the board, there were too many unnecessary brand drops. I understand the need to make the story relatable, but it felt forced, like having your mom thrust your Vans in your face so that you put your Vans on and then go for a walk wearing your Vans.
I feel like there’s a misunderstanding of how TikTok works. It’s all about the algorithm. Did the author do their research? After even just 10 minutes on the app, it picks up on what content you’re looking for. The character wouldn’t see content from the “millennials ruining TikTok” if the character didn’t like that content.

A couple stories aren't worth mentioning, some are so awful I had to. The Socially Distant Dog-Walking is the only cute story in this compilation. I liked the idea of pandemic stories, but I also have a thing where I like good writing. So...

One Day, what's up with the power tripping little sister? And the parents that just allow it? Didn't enjoy it.

The New Boy Next Door was written by someone who has never interacted with a teenage boy, soooo bad.

Love with a Side of Fortune has an extremely unhealthy relationship between mother and daughter, so messed up just wtf. And them using her for free help six days a week? Not okay at all. OH WAIT! It's justified because they put a roof over her head. Yeah, a roof over the head of their own child who is high school. That shit is toxic.

Stuck with Her would be cute except it's so cliche and just... Not good.

Masked seems like it's written by a sixteen year old fangirl. Pass.

All I really need to say is, here's hoping a couple of these authors tell the rest of the story for their respective couples. It was lots of fun, but I want MORE! Therein lies my problem with reading short story collections. Sigh. ♥
