I saw the movie of this book a very long time ago and really liked it. A while later, I found the book at a book fair for an amazing price and decided to pick it up even though I knew what the story was about. But it sat on a bookshelf in my home for many years because I just couldn't bring myself to read it. A few months ago, with so many books on my TBR list, I decided to give up and add it to a donation pile. Right before I gave away that box of books, I changed my mind, fished this one out and gave it a try. I am so glad I did! This is my first book by the author, and I must say that I not only enjoyed the story, I really liked the author's writing style. This is a psychological thriller and courtroom drama. It provides thrills and suspense – and a shocking twist at the end! Even if you've seen the movie adaptation with Richard Gere and Edward Norton, it is worth taking the time to read this novel. The author does a great job at presenting this story on paper, and you get a more in-depth view into the characters.
