This book is wonderful. To any autistic person or anyone with friends, family members, or loved ones who are autistic, you should read this. I feel so seen. I feel like I understand myself and my disability better. I feel more okay with myself.

Wonderful book; I loved its focus towards an Autistic audience and it helped me a lot to think about myself as a disabled person, about my masking experiences, and what the world needs to do to better accept everyone. I loved it to pieces and I can't wait to have it physically.

Should be essential reading for everyone, Autistic or Allistic, though I feel it is particularly valuable for people on the spectrum see all there is to appreciate about how they interact with the world.

I gave it 4.5 stars rather than 5 because Unmasking Autism takes a very activist based approach to discussing Autism. While this is valuable I feel it leaves the potential to alienate Allistic readers or anyone who is conservative leaning politically. For instance, I would love to recommend this book to my family but I know it's political bend would turn them off such that they would be be unreceptive to the knowledge this book has to share.
